About Brother Kevin

Hometown: Tampa, FL

Year professed/ordained:

  • Entered the Franciscan Community: 2017
  • Professed Vows: 2019
  • Ordained: June 2024

What did you do or consider doing before entering the community?

I worked in service contract sales for Otis Elevator.

What drew you to the TOR friars?

I was inspired by the charism of constant conversion. I saw how even after I encountered Christ and chose to live a Christian life, there were still elements of my life that needed conversion-it’s a lifelong process, not just one moment. I witnessed the ministries of the friars following that notion showing that they put the charism into practice and not keep it as a nice idea.

What are some hobbies you enjoy?

I really enjoy cooking, reading, and listening to music.

Favorite saint and why:

St. John Paul II I love his witness of joy and hope despite so much opposition and adversity. He also had a brilliant theological mind lovingly challenging the world we live in to be more human and follow the Gospel more faithfully.

Favorite Bible verse:

“You my child will be called the prophet of the Most High for you will go before the Lord to prepare His way, to give His people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins” Luke 1:76-77

Current Ministry:

I’m finishing up my studies for priesthood in Washington DC and helping out on the weekends at our parish in Northern Virginia

Advice to discerning men:

Don’t focus too much on the end of the road, keep your eye on the next logical step; what is the next step that makes sense? God is taking you on a journey, not throwing you onto a finish line; enjoy that journey!
