What did you do or consider doing before entering the community?
Being an accountant or financial advisor. I studied both accounting and finance in college, but as I got towards the end of my college time, God was leading me towards the TORs
What drew you to the TOR friars?
The witness of a particular friar. When I was a freshman in college, I went on a retreat where a TOR friar was hearing confessions. I went to him for confession and experienced the love of God powerfully through this friar. A few years later when I was more open to discerning my vocation, I remembered this friar's witness and felt drawn to be like him.
What are some hobbies you enjoy?
I love cycling and go a yearly cycling tour during one of the weeks of my vacation. My most recent trip was from the Canadian border of New York State all the way into New York City: 430 miles!
I also make rosaries out of paracord. What started as a fun hobby became something that is part of my everyday life!
Favorite saint and why:
St. Stephen the first martyr. I love how he courageously proclaims the truth of the faith amidst adversity. He preaches in a powerful and convicting way. He is the inspiration for my Religious Name, Stephen.
Favorite Bible verse:
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 "but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me."
Current Ministry:
Director of Postulants, Director of Campus Ministry - Saint Francis University
Advice to discerning men:
Be open to God and let him guide your steps. Be courageous and God will show you the way.
