First Profession of Vows

Third Order Regular Franciscans

Brother Matthew Aubin, T.O.R. made his first profession of vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in the Third Order Regular of Saint Francis.  The Profession ceremony took place in the Immaculate Conception Chapel on the campus of Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania on September 12, 2020.  The Very Rev. Joseph Lehman, T.O.R., Minister Provincial, received his vows.  Father Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., president of Saint Francis University, preached the homily for the mass.


Brother Matthew entered the Franciscan community on August 18, 2018 and did his postulant year under the direction of Fr. Patrick Whittle, T.O.R. at Saint Louis Friary in Washington, D.C.  He began his Novitiate on September 8, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Friary in Loretto, Pennsylvania under the direction of Fr. Kevin Queally, T.O.R.  Brother Matthew will continue his formation in the Franciscan Community at Saint Louis Friary in Washington, D.C.




I ask for God’s merciful love and for the grace of serving him more perfectly
in the brotherhood of the Third Order Regular of Saint Francis of Penance.
