Postulancy is a nine month period where men are introduced to religious life, initiated into Franciscan spirituality, and concentrate on human development. During this time, postulants live at Saint Louis Friary in Washington, DC and may be enrolled at the Catholic University of America as a part-time student. Most postulants take two courses each semester, which might include philosophy, religious studies, or pastoral ministry, and they are engaged in a weekly volunteer ministry.
